Mastering

At Pür, mastering is a collaboration between the mastering engineer and the artist/producer/mix engineer. Our goal is to realize the project’s artistic vision as completely as possible. Sometimes this means an insanely loud and aggressive master; other times it means a project with a wide dynamic range.

We know these goals through a very close listening of the track, and from communicating directly with the creators. The process typically proceeds as follows:

Pre-mastering. Our mastering engineer listens to your mixes and gives feedback, if you desire.
Initial Quality Control: We listen, clean up any noises or clicks, and discuss the musical goals with the creative team.
Mastering: Either attended or unattended, we do whatever the track needs to realize its full potential. Could be minimal changes or a dramatic transformation – the song and the artist tell us what it needs. When completed, we send it back to the creative team for approval.
Revisions: If the creative team requests, there can be as many revisions to the original mix as desired. Frankly, revisions are seldom requested, but they are available as a guarantee of satisfaction.
Final QC: Once approved, the masters undergo final quality control and delivery.
