About Studio B

Built for versatility

Studio B is a bit of a chameleon. It fills many different functions and fills them all well. Even its layout is a bit unusual – a large central control room/recording space, a drum booth, and a vocal booth. What can you use Studio B for?

– Full band tracking. Drums and vocals in booths, guitars, bass and keyboards in large room.
– Full band demo recording. Finalize arrangements and record guide tracks before final tracking in Studio A.
– Full band rehearsals. Same setup as for tracking.
– Songwriting or composing. All musicians together with the producer in the large room. Old school style.
– Rhythm section tracking. Drums in large room, bass in a booth (or vice versa).
– Vocal recordings. Vocal booth has great sightlines to the producer or engineer. Very intimate.
– Guitar or bass overdubs. If desired, amps can be in the booths. The large room is connected by TS and Speakon over short tielines (made from ultra high-quality Vovox sonorus cables).
– Acoustic instrumental overdubs. Very controlled acoustics, excellent mics, preamps, and converters.
– Mixing. SSL XL console, lots of outboard, and all the plugins you can shake a stick at.
– Editing or arranging. Great ergonomics and monitoring for a fast, intuitive workflow.
